TOM WILSON
BIOGRAPHY
Thomas Reston Wilson (“Tom”) was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Tom attended and graduated from John Burroughs High School in 1995, Miami University of Ohio (cum laude) in 1999, and St. Louis University School of Law in 2003 (magna cum laude). In a gap year before law school, Tom worked at the Trinity Center in Carteret County teaching environmental education to North Carolina middle school students in the Sound to Sea Program. While in law school, Tom was a summer intern at the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office working in the Environmental Section, focusing on coastal issues. Tom was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in August of 2003. After law school, Tom clerked for the Honorable J. Douglas McCullough on the North Carolina Court of Appeals from 2003-05. Tom then moved to his wife’s hometown of New Bern, North Carolina, where he worked at Stubbs & Perdue, P.A. Tom soon moved to Greene & Wilson, P.A. in 2007 with Kelly Greene where he worked for 15 years, specializing in State and Federal Criminal law. Most recently, Tom has completed 18 months fulfilling a judicial term on the North Carolina Superior Court bench, presiding over criminal and civil matters in over 25 eastern counties and overseeing a number of murder trials. In addition to his trial court practice, Tom has argued in the North Carolina Court of Appeals, the North Carolina Supreme Court, and the Federal Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. In January of 2023, Tom was delighted and fortunate to return to his beloved colleagues at Greene, Wilson, Crow & Smith P.A. and the amazing and dedicated staff. In addition to his case load, Tom is currently working on his LLM in English Law through Nottingham Law School, Nottingham England and currently serves as Board Chair for Public Radio East.
